Back on line.....thanks!
(07/24/2008)
Hello all, I have about a million things to be thankful for! My God has supplied me with a family that cares about me more than I could have dreamed. When my phone service was temporarily shut off, I was deemed 'missing', and my Christian brothers & sisters began callng & praying from Canada to Mexico City! I had last been seen on Wednesday afternoon (lunch with Elena in Juarez), and by Friday (pay day), when my phone was reconnected, I found out that I was missing. I am overwhelmed at the intense love of God that we share for each other. I was doing the usual things- Wednesday night Bible study, work all night Thurs-Satuday at the hospital (sleeping days), Sunday night church, then back to Reto Monday morning. -No wonder people have a hard time reaching me. So this month I paid the phone bill and let the internet go instead. But God has heard your prayers!! My health is much improved, and I no longer need physical or occupational therapy. I am still beliving for a full recovery, and I've not far to go. Financialy, God is blessing me through people like you! My new little church family in Las Cruces has also taken me under their wing. I finally found a Sunday night service, when a patient asked me to attend her baptism at 'Healing Word Tabernacle'. This is a group of about 15 prayer warriors, who fervently seek His Word and His Will. As you can tell from the name, they share the gift of Healing. Many people come through for healing, and then find themselves returning to thier families and to the church of their youth, or of other family members. You may remember that I have only until the first part of next year to attain my Registry from the NBRC, if I don't want to have to retake the CRT first. God laid on hearts to lend me the $380 needed up front to process my application. They would need the funds back in two months, since it is set aside for a particular bill. The next day I got another call telling me that someone else paid the loan in full, and provided an additional $100! My cupboards were nearly empty, as well as my gas tank, so it was just in time. Over the next 2 days, I went to a free RRT exam review at the college. Yesterday, on my way home, I heard a noise from my brakes, and had them checked. $130 later, I went home praying all the way. 'God, I clearly felt you wanted me to have this gas & groceries. Was I mistaken?' No. For when I arrived home, YOU had sent me $100, leaving me with only needing an extra $30 to cover the bill. God is good, I am a child of the King, and as always, well cared for!! Reto is looking good. The roof is being repaired, as supplies are made available. It is a very big job. In some places, it still rains inside when it rains outside. Other maintenance and repairs are being done too, as we want to be good stewards of God's wonderful provision. We are hopeful to be able to build our much needed additions. Room #5 is sorted and cleaned up, thanks to Sister Letty's perserverance. Two more quilts are completed, along with thier matching pillows. I hope to work with the computer class to custom design raffle tickets in the near future. I have collected photos of each girl in the class, and plan to print a photo and brief testimony on fabric that can be sewn to the back of thier completed quilt. Your prayers for these ladies are more important than ever. Some enter the gates of Reto knowing that leaving the world of addictions could endanger thier family. This is a real threat. God calls them to this place of safety, where they can come to know Christ, and bring Him to thier world. It truly takes a step in faith to walk away from the old life. The news reports only a fraction of the truth. God is transforming lives here; not just of these women, but of children, families, and neighbors. You can see the countenance change on the faces of visiting family, every Sunday, as they learn about the difference between a religeon of idolatry and confusion, and the real loving God. -The beginnings of another victory. Be strong, and don't give up. There's a whole lotta' shakin' goin' on! I praise God for all He does through you! Thank you from all of us.
In His Grip, Kate
